PROGRAMS FOR THERAPISTS

North Carolina, particularly the Triangle area, is rich in psychoanalytic resources, with programs ranging from free lectures and short courses to full psychoanalytic training. Mental health professionals and trainees use these programs to deepen their skills in intensive psychotherapy or psychoanalysis and to supplement their prior professional education. To receive invitations to psychoanalytic programs, please email info@ncpsychoanalysis.org.

RESOURCES FOR THERAPISTS

North Carolina Psychoanalytic Society (NCPS)
The North Carolina Psychoanalytic Society offers an annual series of psychoanalytic lectures and seminars, usually held on Saturday morning at the Lucy Daniels Foundation. These clinically relevant presentations are open to all mental health professionals and trainees. These programs are free to members of the NCPS, full time students and trainees. A modest registration fee is charged for all others. The Society also sponsors free psychoanalytic discussions of PlayMakers Repertory Company productions. The North Carolina Chapter of the American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work (formerly the National Membership Committee on Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work)
The AAPCSW, affiliated with the Clinical Social Work Federation, provides an organizational home for social workers engaged in psychoanalytically-informed practice. The NC Chapter of the NMCOP offers several workshops each year as well as clinical presentations for students at the UNC School of Social Work. For program information, visit Calendar or call (919) 881-4198. For membership information, call (919) 990-1227 or visit the AAPCSW.

Lucy Daniels Foundation (LDF)
The Lucy Daniels Foundation was founded to foster personal development, emotional freedom, and a deeper understanding of creativity through programs of psychoanalytic treatment, research and education. In addition to providing grants for psychoanalytic treatment to creative individuals, the LDF offers an array of educational programs including short courses, an annual lecture at the NC Museum of Art, and an annual conference at which psychoanalysts and creative individuals share the stage. LDF's psychoanalytic library is open to the public by appointment. For program information, call (919) 677-9888 or visit the Lucy Daniels Foundation.

North Carolina Psychoanalytic Foundation (NCPF)
North Carolina Psychoanalytic Foundation sponsors a Speakers Bureau that provides psychoanalytically informed talks to groups of mental health professionals and students. This service is provided free of charge in agency, hospital and university classroom settings. Talks are designed to meet the needs of specific groups. For more information, see Find A Speaker.

PSYCHOANALYTIC FELLOWSHIPS

THE DAVID RAFT FELLOWSHIP
The David Raft Fellowship for Psychoanalytic Education has been created by the North Carolina Psychoanalytic Foundation through a generous gift from Elizabeth Raft, MD. This Fellowship is awarded annually, to one student or trainee enrolled in or planning to enroll in one of the North Carolina Psychoanalytic Society's PECC training programs.  The David Raft Fellowship will provide up to $1,250 to help defray the costs of tuition.
