North Carolina Psychoanalytic Foundation Eighth Annual Public Lecture The North Carolina Psychoanalytic Society present It's My Life: Adapting in Changing Economic Times Saturday, May 30, 2009 9am-12noon The Friday Center, UNC, Chapel Hill Predictably Irrational presented by Dan Ariely, PhD Human behavior can be unpredictable even in the most predictable circumstances. This lecture will describe general principles of human irrationality, and will shed light on how these principles can make irrationality predictable and explainable. We will work through some examples and applications of these principles. presented by George Vaillant, MD This lecture will raise the consciousness of the role of positive emotions in combating depression during these adverse economic circumstances.
