Friends of NCPF membership
dollars are essential in helping the NCPF carry out its programs. In 2008-2009,
Friends of NCPF will provide key support in developing several new programs,
including:
The Open Minds Clinic for free,
low and reduced fee psychoanalytic psychotherapy. Through the Open Minds Clinic,
the NCPF is beginning to work with the Orange County Rape Crisis Center to help
recruit therapists to provide counseling services to some of its clients.
International Exchange to
enhance training, research, teaching and clinical experiences by collaborating
with the psychoanalytic institute in Cuernavaca, Mexico. In September, the NCPF brought Dr. Alejandro Salamonovitz to the Triangle for four days of programs,
case studies, community outreach and small group discussions.
The Peaceful Schools Project to
create environments conducive to learning. The NCPF is in the early stages of
developing this pilot program with potential partners in Hillsborough and
Durham. For more information about this program, visit www.backoffbully.com.
Community-Based Support for Military Families - Outreach to our state's military families using Sesame Street Workshop's Talk, Listen, Connect programs to spark informed and helpful discussions of the challenges encountered in the deployment cycle.
Open Sky Children Scholarship Fund - The NCPF is pleased to announce the establishment of the Open Sky Children's Scholarship Fund. The Open Sky Fund will be used to provide scholarship support for financially-needy and/or at-risk children, as identified by the Scholarship Committee, to attend the Open Sky Aikikai School of Martial Arts. For more information about this program please visit Open Sky Aikikai. View Brochure
Friends of NCPF who can make a

will be matched by NCPF board member Bill
